Darphin – a brand I like

I bumped into Darphin brand a few years ago. I bought a product from Andra Cosmetics, who as you already know is never wrong, and I was impressed. Then, of course, I forgot about this brand and passed to others. Until I recently saw an offer for a face cream on Strawberry, and I could not resist. It proved out to be what I already knew: Darphin is a brand that deserves every penny, even if the products are quite expensive.

About the Darphin brand

Darphin is a brand of skin care products sold in over 60 countries. The first serum was created in 1958 by Pierre Darphin, at his Institute in Paris, and the brand followed his vision to create innovative products by combining science and nature. I agree when they say that the more we use the products, the more we convince ourselves of their quality and usefulness. I have rediscovered these products, and I love hem.

The first product that I have tried was the Aromatic Cleansing Balm with Rosewood. I used it to cleanse my face in the morning and evening after removing the makeup. It is gentle, it effectively cleanses and smells insane. Some of the ingredients are Sage, Ylang Ylang, essential oils of rosewood and Marula oil.

Initially, I thought it was a gelatine, but in contact with water, it turns into a silky milk that leaves a shiny, smooth and clean skin. In general, I have issues with cleansing products as not all are good for my sensitive skin. Some products severely dry my skin, others leave a greasy film, and others cause breakouts. The cleansing balm from Darphin is one of the only products that cause no problems. I did not dare to throw away the jar, although it’s been a while since I’ve finished it. When I have opened it to take a picture, I have noticed that the insane smell is still there.

I purchased the All Skin Hydrating Cream Gel from Darphin on Strawberry site because it was on sale with an exceptional discount. It is a combination of hydration offered by a cream and the lightness of a gel that absorbs quickly. It has a hydrating complex of natural ingredients (lavender, kiwi extract) which helps normal/combination skin to return to normal hydration.

The light texture of the gel cream provides an immediate absorption and leaves no greasy film. It is the perfect cream to apply before makeup, especially when I’m in a hurry. It leaves behind a unique smell, a combination of “green” smell of kiwi and lavender. Luckily for me, although it also contains cucumber extract, you cannot sense it at all.

Above is the list of ingredients. Unfortunately, I do not have the box for the balm with rosewood extract.

I advise you to compare prices because they vary from a few pennies to a few tens, and it’s a shame to give extra money because we didn’t look well for them.

Did you use Darphin products? What do you think?

Cover Girl CG Smoothers Liquid Foundation

Hands down, Cover Girl’s CG Smoothers Liquid Foundation in Classic Ivory is one of my top five favorites when it comes to liquid foundation. This stuff is top of line and never fails to create a flawless look, it’s fantastic! I paid relatively cheap for it, so hopefully you do, too!

The product comes in packaging that’s sort of like a bottle and a tube, it’s pretty much made out of hard plastic, and comes out with a squeeze. There are multiple shades to choose from, which is fantastic, so there’s literally a shade for all skin tones and types. This product comes in the following shades listed below;

Creamy Beige

Classic Ivory

Natural Ivory

Classic Beige

Warm Beige

Soft Honey

Buff Beige

Classic Tan

Natural Beige

Creamy Natural

Medium Light

The texture is practically a liquid, it’s literally that smooth, and easily covers your skin. You won’t have to rub it around too much to get the job done. It also blends like magic, so using a sponge is not totally necessary, your finger will work just fine. Unless you put the product straight into your nose, you will not smell it whatsoever. I did not test that theory, though! Otherwise, I’d probably be able to report on the smell quite a bit more.

The biggest pro for this product would have to be the hydrating effect. Normally, foundations can dry out your skin, but this product does the complete opposite. In fact, when I use this liquid foundation for the duration of the day and take it off at night, my skin actually feels pretty great! Always fresh, always smooth. When it comes to cons, however, I cannot find a thing. This product is literally that great, and it’s fantastic.

Overall, I’d give this product a 10/10.

Cover Girl CG Smoothers BB Cream Tinted Moisturizer

I’ve been using Cover Girl CG Smoothers BB Cream Tinted Moisturizer in the shade of Fair to Light for pretty much three years now, and it’s such a great product. When it comes to BB creams, you literally cannot go wrong with this product. Though it’s not technically a foundation, it works as both that and a moisturizer. The price is fair and well worth the value, that’s for sure.

The product packaging is a wide tube you can squeeze, and won’t come out too quickly if you squeeze lightly enough. This product comes in three different shades; Fair to Light, Light to Medium, and Medium to Dark.

The texture of the product is very liquidy and light, and does not leave your skin feeling too greasy. There is a bit of a residue to it but not very much, so as long as you blend it properly you should not have too much of an issue. Your skin will actually feel pretty smooth once you put it on, and you’ll want to touch your face! With some of the products I’ve tried, they make me not want to touch my face period because of how they rub off in cake form, but this BB cream is the total opposite.

The pros for this product are plentiful, that’s for sure. While acting as somewhat of a foundation, it really moisturizes your skin, and it has a SPF 15 broad spectrum. Plus, it does not clog your pores, and that is incredibly important when it comes to products such as this. The only con I could find is that it can be a tad bit oily depending on your skin type. My skin can get oily sometimes, which will impact it.

Overall, I give this product a 9/10.

Essence I Heart Punk Jumbo Eyeliner Pen

I’ve been using Essence I Heart Punk Jumbo Eyeliner Pens in the shade of Ultra Black for nearly two years now, and I will never use anything else when it comes to the eyeliner I use solely on my eyelid and not my waterlines. This product is fantastic and I highly recommend it to everyone, whether you like liquid or pencil. Depending on where you go, the price is incredibly reasonable from what I’ve seen, mine was originally a gift.

This eyeliner pen is a black tube with cute pink writing on it, very small, and can fit in your pocket. The cap comes off easily and has an applicator of a marker. As far as I know, the only shade available right now is the Ultra Black.

The texture is literally like a marker, it does not leave any grease or smudging on your eyes, and it applies smooth as silk. The smell is incredibly light, which is kind of surprising, considering quite a few eyeliner pens I’ve tried and used in the past had an overpowering smell to it. In fact, it smells lightly like a permanent marker, but not so much that it makes your head spin if you get your nose to it too closely.

The biggest pro about this eyeliner pen is that it stays on all day. You could rub your eye over and over, it’s not going to come off. I know this, because I’ve tested this theory! Try it for yourself and see. I literally cannot find any negatives when it comes to this product, and that makes me incredibly happy! I’ve never used such an amazing eyeliner pen in my entire life, and I’m forever hooked.

Overall, I’d give this product a definite, confident 10/10 and will forever be buying it.
